Music & Movies in the Park
July 9, 23 & August 6, 20
Held in Waterloo Park, Music & Movies in the Park is a family event,where you get to watch a movie per night under the stars. The music begins at 7 p.m, and the movie begins at dusk. Food vendors are also found on location.

Kitchener Ribfest & Craft Beer Show
July 17-19
2015 marks the 12th anniversary of the Downtown Kitchener Ribfest & Craft Beer Show, a community event that offers dozens of flavours of barbeque ribs and chicken, craft-brewed beer, and live entertainment. Ribfest is held in the open atmosphere of Victoria Park and has free admission.
Rock and Rumble Motorcycle Show
July 25
From 1-5 p.m., motorcycles take over King Street, lining up in front of City Hall. Live music will be playing on Civic Square. Food concessions will also be available.

Kitchener’s Big Music Fest
July 10-12
The event that residents of the KW region are undoubtedly most excited for is Kitchener’s Big Music Fest 2015, which will take place in McLennan Park. Last year’s Big Music Fest featured Aerosmith, Slash featuring Myles Kennedy, Bryan Adams, and Kim Mitchel, just to name a few of the headliners. Joining the action this year are Blondie, Soundgarden, Extreme, Monster Truck, Jane’s Addiction, and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Rod Stewart as the show’s headliner. With careers starting as far back as the 1970s, these artists will hopefully bring a certain sound to the 2015 concert that bands from the last decade or two couldn’t match.
TD Kitchener’s Blues Festival
August 6-9
The four-day-long festival will be celebrating its 15th year in Kitchener this year. Held in Victoria Park, the event starts at 5 p.m and the shows begin at 6 p.m.
Over 80 free-admission shows will be available on six different stages. Some of the performances include Mavis Staples, Edgar Winter, Robert Randolph, Matt “Guitar” Murphy, Watermelon Slim, Miss Angel, Monkey Junk, David Wilcox, and many more.
Two ticketed shows will also take place on August 6, features Burton Cummings, Devon Allman, Conor Gains Band, and August 7, has Randy Bachman, North Mississippi Allstars, and Jon Knight & Soulstack.

Cruising on King
July 10
If classic cars are what you’re into, then King Street is the place to be on July 10. Starting off in Victoria Park, the cars are brought in for the “Show and Shine,” many more join them in the streets for the “Classic Car Parade,” and, ending on King Street for the “King Street Car Show,” the cars are parked on King Street to be displayed and admired. Live music is also played throughout the streets on temporary stages. The event begins in the afternoon and ends in the evening.

Sun Life Financial Waterloo Busker Carnival
August 27-30
Located on King Street in Uptown Waterloo, this event is one of the oldest busker events in Canada. It is filled with many different busker performances, from street art, to sword swallowing to puppeteering, to musical performances, and more.

Summer Lights Festival
June 20
The night before summer officially begins, the Summer Lights Festival lights up downtown Kitchener. The event is separated into “HUBS,” where each ‘HUB’ has a number of activities, restaurants and stores open to the public. The festivities include live street music, craft beer stores, cafés, art galleries, and more.
The event runs from 8 p.m to 1 a.m.

Sun Life Financial Jazz Festival

The Sun Life Financial Jazz Festival is an annual three-day music festival held on the streets of uptown Waterloo. The event encourages all genres of jazz. This upcoming year is the festival’s 23rd anniversary and 35,000 enthusiastic fans are expected to be in attendance. While the 2015 lineup is still unknown, festival-goers are expecting an ensemble of talent after last year’s event featured the works of the Marcus Roberts Trio, Ivana Santilli, Dee Dee, the Dirty Martinis, and over 20 others.
