The Waterloo Warriors men’s volleyball team travelled to Nipissing to match off against the Lakers Jan. 18. The Warriors dominated every set of the match and quickly put the Lakers away 3-0.

The first set started with strong offence by the Lakers, to which the Warriors responded with precision, keeping the set under control until the eight-point mark when Waterloo went up in the score and won the set 28-26.

The Warriors stayed on top of the Lakers by at least one point for most of the second set. Zachary Doherty was fundamental for the Warriors attack and helped secure the set, 25-22. During the third and final set, the Warriors sunk the Lakers by taking an 11-point advantage that sealed the game, winning the set with a score of 25-14.

This was the Warriors second straight win, which ranks them third in the league. The black and gold will host Windsor Jan. 23.
