On the first day of voting for the Feds election, polls opened before the official 10 a.m. opening and multiple votes were cast, leading to a number of votes becoming invalid after the system was reset.
“This morning our voting system experienced some technical difficulties,” said a written statement on the Feds website. “Because of this the system had to be reset which delayed the start of voting according to the original timeline.”
Voters who cast their vote before the system was reset were sent an email requesting they recast their vote.
Feds by-laws requires polls to be open for 60 hours, therefore the polling period will now be extended to 11 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13.
