The United States’ Supreme Court legalized same sex-marriage in a historic 5-4 ruling
On Friday, June 26 the US Supreme Court legalized same sex marriage nationwide. This means the 14 states with current bans on same sex marriage will no longer be be able to enforce them. After the decision, Supreme Court Judge Anthony Kennedy — perceived widely as the swing middle vote between the left and right faction of the court — said the plaintiffs “asked for equal dignity in the eyes of the law. The constitution grants them that right.” After the ruling President Obama called the ruling a “victory for America.” Meanwhile, Republican presidential candidate and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee said the ruling is an example of “an out-of-control act of constitutional, judicial tyranny.”

CNN remains quiet after reporter Lucy Pawle falsely reports spotting an ISIS flag at the pride parade in London. Even after bringing in national security analyst Peter Bergen to talk about the supposed sighting of the ISIS flag, it was later proven the flag in question was really just covered in drawings of sex toys — butt plugs and vibrators.

The Canadian women’s soccer team is booted off the Fifa WC at the hands of England
After allowing two early goals, the Canadian women’s soccer team’s run at the world cup tournament, in their home country, has come to an end. The Canadian squad is ranked eighth in the world, so their quarterfinals exit is fitting, however, Coach John Herdman felt like his team should have been able to measure up well against England — ranked sixth in the world. “We have no excuse. We came here to win the World Cup … We wanted to make our country proud and I think we did that,” Herdman said.
