On Nov. 15, police responded to a call reporting gunshots on Hazel Street at 1:40 p.m. The first officers on the scene heard similar loud noises and called for back up. Approximately 10 police cruisers rushed to the scene and a building was surrounded.
The police later found that a repeated slamming of a steel door was causing the noise.
In an interview with The Record, Staff Sgt. Deborah McBride said, “We don’t know who slammed the door, but we don’t think there was malicious intent.”
There were no injuries, and no arrests were made.
