For those who are taken, February is known as the month of love, but for those who aren’t, it is known as the month of chocolates – and we are going to celebrate it with a fruity twist 😉
Tools
A saucepan
Silicone mould
Ingredients
1 cup of fruit juice or puree
2 ½ tbsp of gelatin powder
2 tbsp of brown sugar or honey
½ cup of melted dark or milk chocolate
Instructions
Combine the juice, gelatin, and sweetener of choice in a saucepan. Constantly stir at medium-low heat until the gelatin and sugar are dissolved. This should take about 2-3 minutes. Use a teaspoon or dropper to transfer the mixture into the silicone mould. Let cool and store in the fridge for a minimum of 2 hours to set the gelatin.
Once the gummies are ready, slightly melt the chocolate in the microwave for about 15-30 seconds. Do not let the chocolate completely melt – it should still be chunky when you remove it from the microwave. Stir the chocolate to melt the rest. Make sure the chocolate is semi-cooled, and dip the gummies into the chocolate. Place in the fridge for 1 hour.
This recipe is perfect for any occasion, it does not necessarily have to be for Valentine’s Day. To be honest, the only element that would distinguish it from being a regular treat is if you were to place the gummies in heart moulds. Otherwise, these cute little droplets of heaven can be enjoyed throughout the year. Happy Valentine’s Day! xoxo
