Marilyn Boutilier, a UW Food Services employee who was fired in December for giving away free muffins and sandwiches, has reached a settlement with the university. The agreement means Boutilier will forgo arbitration and will drop her public campaign to be reinstated.

The incident resulted in a significant public response — a WPIRG letter to UW demanding her reinstatement recieved 100 student signatures, and 300 total signatures.
Details of the settlement are to remain confidential, but according to a recent WPIRG press release, Boutilier believes that taking the settlement was the best option.
