Suspicious Person

UWPS is investigating the report of a suspicious male approaching a student on the Laurel Trail near Seagram Drive. On Feb. 12 at approximately 11:00 a.m., a student was approached by a male asking curious questions about students and Reading Week. The complainant was uneasy with the line of questioning and was concerned the suspect may be canvassing to commit thefts during Reading Week.

Suspect’s description

The suspect is described as male, white, in his 40s, 6 feet tall, 200 lbs, heavy build, double chin, unshaven, walked with a noticeable limp, wearing a plaid jacket and a hunter-style hat with earflaps.

Thefts

Cell Phone (1)

A Blackberry Z10 was taken from the ML food court on Feb. 10 at approximately 1 p.m.

Bike (1)

A blue and white men’s “Kranked Republic” mountain bike (cable lock cut) was taken from the EV3 racks between Feb. 5 and 10.

Cash

A men’s wallet, containing $200 Canadian and $15 US, was left behind in room 201 at Renison University College after 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 11. It was turned into the SLC Turnkey desk on Feb. 13.

TVs (2)

Two 39” Panasonic flat screen LED 1080p televisions were taken from the Wilmot Court North and South lounges, between 4:30 p.m. Feb. 11 and 10 a.m. Feb. 12.

Headphones (1)

A pair of silver and black Bose QC15 headphones was taken from room 2364 of E2 on Feb. 3 at approximately 9:00 p.m.

Coat (1)

A men’s Guess brand black leather jacket was taken from the Bombshelter Pub on Feb. 12 at approximately 1:30 a.m.

Watch (1)

A black and silver men’s Citizen Eco-Drive watch was taken from an unsecured locker in the PAC men’s change room on Feb. 13 between 3:50 and 6:10 p.m.
