Despite adverse weather conditions, the Waterloo women’s golf team took home gold at a pair of tournaments to open up their 2015 season. </p>
The Warriors found themselves at top spot in both the Carlton Invitational at Greensmere Golf Club and the Queen’s Invitational at Cataraqui Golf Club by recording scores of 240 and 252, respectively.
Stephanie Chu led the way by winning a silver medal at the Carlton Invitational, which she then bested by winning gold at the Queen’s Invitational. She shot a seven-over 79 to capture the silver, while her six-over 80 score proved enough for gold.
Stefanie Bothwell joined her fellow teammate on the podium by earning a bronze medal at the Carlton Invitational and a silver medal at the Queen’s Invitational. She recorded a score of 80 at Carlton and a score of 83 at Queens.
Imprint contacted the women’s head coach, Carla Munch, but was unable to get a comment before press time.
