The Kitchener Blues Festival

This multi-venue fundraising festival is one of Canada’s largest for blues. It features over 60 different acts at six different Downtown Kitchener stages.

Music in the Park 

Waterloo Park Bandshell, 199 Father David Bauer Dr. 

Sun Aug. 13, 7 p.m. 

This free outdoor live music event is the latest in the Waterloo Concert Band’s summer-long Music in the Park series. Be sure to dress for the weather and bring a blanket or a lawn chair. 

Admission is free. Donations are welcome. 

The Melón Jimenez and Lara Wong Trio at the Jazz Room 

The Jazz Room in Uptown Waterloo 

Sun Aug. 13, 8 p.m. 

This weekend at the Jazz Room, flamenco jazz takes centre stage. Melón Jimenez and Lara Wong, along with percussionist Alex Carrasco, will unite the genre’s traditional Indian and Arabic origins into an unforgettable modern flamenco musical experience. 

Doors open at 7 p.m.

COMEDY 

Rusty Nail Comedy Show 

The Crazy Canuck Kitchener

Sat Aug. 12, 7:30 to 10 p.m.

Enjoy a laughs-filled evening at this Downtown Kitchener standup comedy show. It features Juno Award-nominated headliner Keith Pedro and CBC-profiled Jen Sakato. 

Doors open at 7 p.m. Show starts at around 8 p.m.

The Little Theatre BIG Comedy Show 

Kitchener-Waterloo Little Theatre 

Sat Aug. 12, 8:30 to 9:45 p.m.

Sit back, relax, and laugh. This standup comedy show features renowned international comedians David Green, Evan Carter, and Vincent Vinelli, and all proceeds go towards supporting the Lutherwood Children’s Mental Health Centre.

Heritage Hopper 

Stops at Northfield ION station, St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market, and St. Jacobs Village

Get a feel for country landscapes by taking a train ride through the Waterloo region on the historic Waterloo Central Railway. The ride lasts an hour and 45 minutes.
